World's most AMAZING pie topper!

Previously you saw my mini post on the cake topper I made for L & J's wedding.  I was asked to make a PIE topper for S & K's  county fair themed wedding. When she first approached me with her idea I was very skeptical...How long would this take me...Can't you just buy it...How am I going to sew teeny tiny clothes...???  However, like I discover with most projects I start I am truly overtaken by excitement and energy once I start seeing the fruits of my labor.  It was well worth the hours I put into it and I know S & K LOVED it! 

Some may say I missed my calling but I think I have just opened a door.  Please feel free to contact me - I can start taking orders now.... (I can't forget to Thank my wonderful Hubby who has a passion for miniatures and single handedly took on making the mini glasses!)

First Stop... Wilton Iowa

I can't believe it has already been almost 2 weeks since S & K tied the knot at Overlook Farms.  It was an amazing 9 hour journey and the weekend that preceeded was SO worth every mile we drove.  Here are a few pictures of my dear friend Kates' parents lovely farm in Iowa.  We had a nice stay complete with zuchinni bread for breakfast and fresh brewed coffee.

The farm used to be used as a Hog farm but is now used primarily for corn and soy beans.

Golden Party

We threw The Most Amazing Golden Party for Rick's Golden Birthday.  We all had a LOT of Fun!! My Sisters even drove in for the fun and helpped me plan and set up!  Almost everyone wore something "golden in color".

Top of the CAKE

So I have been Super nonstop with travel, events, puppy, and crafting...Last night I started and finished the cake topper for my dear friend Lisa's Wedding; just in time for her wedding this weekend.  I thought I would share a few close ups.  It was So fun to make!

Heading to LA again...

I leave tomorrow for a second work trip in LA.. I am super excited to explore again!  My sister is meeting me there Wednesday eavening.. It's going to be SO much fun!!  I've already looked into a cute cupcake shop!! 

Vanilla Bake Shop is only a block away from our hotel.  YUM!!

Oh and I get to explore the beautiful Huntley Hotel this time! I don't entirely mean to brag but I am pretty excited!

1 year already!

I honestly can't believe how fast the past year has flown by!  Rick and I have done so much together.  I feel like our wedding day was just yesterday. Like I was writing thank you notes, organizing our home, adjusting to life in Chanhassen just a few months ago.  But alas the Thank you have been done for a long time, our home feels like "home" - I love our space and knowing I can come home to the man of my dreams every night, I have even grown fond of life in the burbs - they are quiet and peaceful and we have had the best summer ever!  I can't wait to see what year 2 of marriage will bring. I love you Rick with all my heart and I can't imagine my life with out you in it!
