Best Idea EVER!

I have to find some wall space! This is such a perfect idea..
Our Kitchen is SO small and I hate how cramed our utencil holder gets.

What a weekend!

Sometimes I go the whole weekend through and think what did I do for the past 2 days! It flies by and I either spend my whole time watching movies and cleaning from the week before or I have something every second. This past weekend however was one of my most favorites in a LONG time! I actually did a variety of things and felt very relaxed and accomplished.

Friday Rick picked me up from work and we headed to The Anchor in Northeast. We did wait for an hour to get seated in the smaller dimly lit hot spot! The Fish and Chips were nothing to brag about; Rick actually tried a few bites of fish and enjoyed it! He ordered the yummy shepherd’s pie. I think my favorite part was watching the 3 cooks scramble around in the back of the long bar with the wool caps on.

Saturday was sunny and warm out. After a nice brunch at the quite south Minneapolis Turtle Bread Company with my dear Jill we headed to Theodore Wirth Park for a bit of spontaneous cross country skiing. It was so refreshing.

I also did all the laundry and the dishes I have been putting off. Watched 500 Days of Summer – what a great movie. Rick even made homemade pizza dough. Here’s hoping your weekend was just as enjoyable.

Work Space

I think if I could create a space like this I might do more designing and sewing... Maybe I just need to buckle down and save for a dress form.  I mean how do I ever plan to make my own clothes with out one?  I think I also need a child size form for all the flower girl dresses I plan to make!

I found this site which sells a variety of dress forms but for $737 for a child size I think I might have to scour craigslist or e-bay.  Yikes!!  Maybe I should Paper mache one for myself!

Winter Frost

The past few days we have had very frosty mornings. Rick snuck out on Monday and shot these beauties. Even though I am ready for spring I truly enjoy wonders like this!  How picturesque.  I only wish I could have gone with him to take the pictures...

Spring Fever

These Shoes are just begging me to strap them on and dress up for a warm spring day...
I guess I am hopeful that winter will wind down sooner than later.

It's a New Year...

I have been doing some thinking as of late. I have a bunch of goals I want to accomplish this year and I really want to make them happen. Top on my list is to be more positive, finish what I start, stay organized, cook more from scratch, and to be more explorative.

After watching the BEST MOVIE ever this weekend.. Julia and Julia I have decided I want to create an exciting life instead of letting it pass me by. I could sit at home and wish I had more fun things to do and more fun places to go or I could create life in my life!

So I already have the first adventure for 2010! The Anchor Fish and Chips Restaurant in North East I read about sounds absolutely amazing I am dying to try. Maybe I will plan a date for this weekend with my husband.
In line my with cooking from scratch goal we had a small dinner party with our lovely friends Sigrid and Greg on Saturday. I made homemade Risotto for the first time and it was amazing! I am sad I didn't capture it on camera but I will work on that. We used fresh white wine and zucchini. YUM! Dessert featured fresh jam tartlets with lemon zest in the crust! I can’t wait for the year ahead to share more of it with all those interested in reading about it.
